national borders has gained much attention
around the world.
A new era starts when anyone with a
smartphone can create various content and
present them to global users making money.
Competition between global platform
companies like Google’s YouTube and
ByteDance’s TikTok is getting fiercer day by day to
attract creators.
In the meantime, rewards and how they should divide platform
privileges
have been the hot topic.
In the past, most creators,
excluding influencers are satisfied with the 'Likes'
and 'comments' they
received. And giant social media platforms like Facebook
and Twitter made a
huge profit by placing advertisements between
the content
their users upload.
Recently, more and more platforms
share their profit with their creators and
pay incentives in some cases. Twitch and Roblox
are good examples.

As the CEO of Kakao Entertainment, which was launched by the merger of Kakao Page, Kakao M, and Melon in 2021, he has led Kakao to expand its global markets with its unrivaled capabilities encompassing all areas of entertainment, from source IPs such as webtoons and web novels to dramas, movies, music, performance contents, and actor management. In 2010, he founded Podotreein, which is considered the predecessor of Kakao Page and played an important role in developing the free webtoon and web novel market into the current one by introducing an innovative business model, what is called 'wait free.' With active investment in the Korean creative ecosystem, Kakao Entertainment has made K-webtoons hit and to be considered as the 'next Hallyu content' in global markets such as Japan, the US, Greater China Area, ASEAN. Kakao Entertainment, which has created a business portfolio covering all content areas, intends to present a new entertainment flow to the global market by working with creators around the world with its comprehensive entertainment capabilities and IP value chain synergy.

Robert Kyncl is YouTube's Chief Business Officer (CBO), who oversees YouTube's corporate relations. Prior to his current role at YouTube, he served as Netflix's Vice President, encouraging Netflix to secure TV shows and movie streaming content in the internet. Robert Kyncl was selected as one of the disruptors to break the conventional rule in the Dealmaker Impact Report of “Variety,” an American entertainment media source. Also, he was selected as one of the pioneers in the Top 50 New Aesthetic List, and one of the 100 executives who have influenced the music industry, and one of the 50 leaders in Tech, Media and Marketing in AdWeek.

Kudzi Chikumbu is in charge of building a community of creators with diversity and inclusiveness, such as creator marketing, partnerships, and education, which encourages TikTok creators can work creatively. With his career as a creator, he develops a content strategy for popular creators of TikTok, holds various creator programs centered on diversity contributing to nurturing creators. Kudzi Chikumbu was selected in AdWeek's 'Innovative Executives', Fortune's '40 Young Leaders under 40', and the Hollywood Reporter's 'Next Generation Talent 2019: 25 Hollywood Rising Executives. He also received multiple awards, including the 2021 'The Culture Creators Technology Award and the 2020 ADCOLOR Innovator award'.

Lee, Seong Hyun was appointed as the CEO of ZUM Internet in 2021 as a financial strategy expert with rich experience at global financial companies such as Citibank, Bain & Company, and Dunamu and consulting & fintech companies. With ZUM Internet presenting a new vision of ‘changing the experience of finance and content’, it is promoting the provision of new financial services and advancement of the portal business. In December 2021, ZUM Internet officially opened the investment content platform ‘ZUM Investment’, and recently launched the unlisted stock information and trading platform ‘GET STOCK’ in June 2022. Now, ZUM Internet is making its every effort to differentiate its portal service ‘ZUM (Zum.com)’ with blockchain technology.

Cho, Ik Hwan has recently created a T real AR/VR technology platform. He used to be in charge of developing and operating the Jump AR/VR service from technology development, service planning to management of the service. Now, he is in charge of planning/development/operation of metaverse service 'ifland.'

In Naver Webtoon, Ro, Seoung Yun is in charge of the secondary business using webtoon and web novel IP. Naver Webtoon was spun off in May 2017 after Naver's in-house independent company (CIC) in 2015. Naver Webtoon provides Webtoon services including 'Naver Webtoon (Korea)', 'LINE Webtoon (Southeast Asia)', 'Webtoon (North America, Latin America, Europe)', and 'LINE MANGA (Japan) in 10 languages around the world. It operates and has 82 million monthly subscribers. With its unrivarly position as a global entertainment company, Naver Webtoon has been expanding its business areas to movies, dramas, games, publishing, sound sources, and character licenses with its the original IP of webtoons and web novels.

At Krafton, Park, Hyung Chul is in charge of Web 3.0 business including NFT and Metaverse. Krafton is a game company that created 'PUBG: Battlegrounds', a game, leading the battle royale genre by selling more than 75 million copies in the global market. In January 2022, Krafton started the Web 3.0 business and not it is developing a C2E (Create-to-Earn)-based service centered on gamers and creators.

After working with LINE and YG Entertainment, IPX (formerly Line Friends), Cho, Hyun is in charge of the digital character IP-based metaverse/NFT business. This year, IPX changed its company name and is working hard to become a ‘digital IP platform company’ by expanding its metaverse/NFT business beyond retail business. To this end, IPX announced its official launch of ‘FRENZ’, a character IP creation platform, which could be expanded with metaverse and NFT services. Along with this, IPX has recently declared the IP 3.0 era where anyone in the world may create and own IP, making profits. After its company name, IPX publicly released its first digital IP 'OOZ & mates' and virtual artist 'WADE.' With the strategic cooperation and investment of the blockchain service platform 'PlayDapp,' IPX will make every effort to improve its technological capabilities, leading the digital IP-centered metaverse era.
